| Neal Stephenson is my new favorite. Interesting concepts again with very well developed, quirky characters that you care about. | ||||

| The first book ever put down after 3 chapters, with no intentions of ever trying again. It's as if the author watched "Big Trouble in Little China", and after hearing Jack Burton on the CB, decided to write an entire book in that voice. I've never seen so much camp & bombast crammed into a page before. If you enjoyed this book, more power to you. | ||||

| I see why it made time magazine’s top 100 list, An absolutely great read. The author had a knack for predicting the future and it is now. | ||||

| The writing is extremely creative and the stores are good, I just started to lose interest a little more than half way through. The book spends a ton of time providing background on the main protagonist, and just when you start to get to know him the book abruptly moves the story to someone else and starts character development all over again. There are just too many new characters, places, and things to know about. I like an easy read, I don't want to have to take notes and map out things on a whiteboard to know what the heck is going on if I put the book down for three days. Unlike all of the other books I have purchased recently, this one remains unfinished although I am determined to get to the end of it. | ||||

| I just finished the author's book seveneves, which i really enjoyed, so thought I'd try his other books. I did not enjoy this one at all. After slogging through 133 pages, waiting for things to start to make sense, or for something interesting to happen, I've given up. | ||||

| The book arrived with (a) pages missing and (b) pages in the wrong order. The pages haven't been torn out - there is no damage to the book they just seem to have not been printed or not been bound. There is enough pages missing that it is unreadable. From what is readable I can't see why this book is held aloft as some key cultural icon - its a McDonalds burger of a book, good enough if nothing better is on offer. | ||||

| While the story is excellent, this edition of the book has serious problems with its pages: there are multiple places where the book was assembled incorrectly and the pages are out of order. UPDATE: Amazon set me a replacement for the copy we received with the pages out of order. The replacement has the same print errors. AVOID THE 2017 DEL RAY TRADE PAPERBACK EDITION | ||||

| Re read it after about 15 years. Still holds up well. Overall a fun read. Kind of weaps up quickly in the end. Reminds me of a Michael Crition book. Clearly one of Mr Stephenson's early books | ||||

| I ready Ready Player One and I wanted to keep readying something to read that had the same feel. i was recommended Snow Crash so i picked up a copy. Although the world is cool and interesting, the book spends too much time on religious and philosophical aspects rather than on the world itself. i found myself struggling to finish towards the end. | ||||

| The novel started off well. But I quickly lost interest after 80-100 pages. I finished it because I paid $12 for it. The misery of reading this could have been alleviated if this book was more like a graphic novel which would have depicted the action sequences a lot better than actually reading an unnecessary amount of pages describing it. Verdict: Mind blowingly AWFUL | ||||

| Five stars. A great read and a very interesting premise. It is a pleasure to read a well written deco-if cyberpunk novel. It ha really held up well over time! | ||||

| Here we have a series of really disjointed characters that are too cool for rules so— you know, they talk hipsters, maintain appropriate emotional distance and are completely unaffected by mundane human realities like happiness or sadness or anything that would otherwise create a pleasant protagonist. In all this sci fi book is painful since none of the rules dictating the world are apt to apply when the author needs to forward a plot point. No main character is ever in danger so suspense is absent. No character ever learns anything so purpose is absent. Not worth reading unless you’re desperate. | ||||
