| I just finished No More Dying Then. This story was not up to Rendell's usual efforts. It had many interesting aspects, but went off the tracks at certain points. Spoiler alert: The story revolves around a couple of missing children, but a huge part also revolves around Mike Burden and his troubles. I have to say, I used to like this character, but now, he just disgusts me. His single minded pursuit of the mother of the missing little boy for his physical gratification was sickening. His own children, his sister-in-law who was caring for his motherless children, meant nothing to him. People will probably say he was just acting out from his grief at the loss of his wife, but I don't believe so. I think he's just a pig. The parts of the story with Wexford were very good. She should stick to Wexford and not spend so much time on Burden. | ||||

| I am a Rendell fan - she has a grasp of human behaviour - sometimes quite dark - I enjoy seeing if I can pick 'who dunnit" Wexford is prone to human failings which is refreshing in a hero. Even Burden slips up in this one | ||||

| I love Ruth Rendell and this is just another good story in the Wexford series. Would recommend these police procedural crime stories to anyone. | ||||
