| I have read so many of Ruth Rendell's books, she never disappoints me. Each one you start out wondering how she will tie all the characters together, but she does it so smooth incredible. | ||||

| I kept reading the book though finding it slow in places. The inspector travelled to a lot of places looking for info into solving the murder. The description of places was good though a bit drawn out. It was an easy book to read as in context. | ||||

| Somehow I've missed the Inspector Wexford mysteries. While I enjoyed the characters,I find long denoumonts tedious. When one character has to spend five pages exposing everything we the readers missed, it means the author couldn't find a way to make the plot elegant. I'll try one more Wexford to see if this sort of plot is an aberration or a standard device of the author's. | ||||
