| There is an enjoyable campiness to this book. It feels like a world made from exaggerated sarcasm and microchips. The ending got a little muddled but it was an otherwise fun book. | ||||

| This review is not about the actual story / writing but about the shocking quality of the book. The book cover itself feels like the inside of the book and feels horrible to hold, and also the printing looks really cheap and text looks smudged. Wish I'd of got the kindle version | ||||

| I first read this book back on mid '90's. On the reread (thanks Kindle) I was pretty surprised how well the technology had aged over the 25 years or so, as many near future books with cutting edge technology look dated. Snow Crash doesn't, either technology or social/economic settings. I know the basic idea of language and code has been questioned but it works pretty well in the story, the characters are 'larger than life' but pretty believable, and the protagonist Hiro works well. So I liked the book, and want to think/research the language/code thing some more. | ||||

| This book established an interesting world and introduces some great characters. The point of the novel is a little lost however. Lots of cool nuggets here, any of which could be made into their own story | ||||

| Other than the fact that this book introduced -- or at least is said to have introduced -- the concept of the Multiverse, I do not see why this novel is so highly regarded. The first thing that I look for in a novel is a cohesive story but what we have here is a scatter of ideas tied together with too many coincidences and oodles of happenstance. The basic storyline is very, very thin but the author has tried to force fit it to the mythology of Sumeria and he really needs a lot of force to fit it. Not a very intuitive fit. Perhaps smarter than I am can appreciate the delicacy of such a story. Unfortunately, I am unable to do so. | ||||

| Starts off a bit slow before you really see the main story and characters develop. First 60% was tough and then the rest of the boot takes off. | ||||

| This is one of those books that can feel full of cliches, and then you realize that it's a foundational work that all the cyberpunk stories that followed used as a blueprint. Right up there with Neuromancer ! | ||||

| Without giving too much away I found the core concept of the novel very interesting. Will look into reading more of the authors works. | ||||

| I have heard Snow Crash raved about by people who have read it many years ago. I didn’t enjoy it as much as Cryptonomicon. I feel perhaps this may be that some of it’s concepts and ways it envisages technology have dated a bit. I also found the historical components heavy reading. A worthwhile read all the same. | ||||

| O livro é bom e recomendo. Pode ser um pouco longo e explicar demais as coisas, mas vejo como um aspecto bacana pra narrativa. O autor é ótimo na narrativa, mas as cenas de ação poderiam ser melhor trabalhadas. | ||||

| Juvenile and now dated. Too many car chases and explosions. Part of plot hinges on vagina dentata yet not at all in an interesting way. | ||||

| I first read this book soon after reading a review in Wired magazine. It had held up marvelously. Like all of Neal Stephenson’s books, I learned quite a bit about esoteric history and technology while reading this book. The story is original, and the characters are well-drawn. Definitely a worthy reread. | ||||

| Firstly this is sci-fi and it has dated somewhat, alot of what is seen as the future has come to pass now to some level. The story itself is utter trash and the book is overly padded with pointless chapters. The whole book could easily be edited to be half its length. | ||||

| If you like sci-fi books you should give it a try. Interesting plot and vivid characters. Overall it is a good easy read. | ||||

| The book is like an alternative history of the U. S., disturbingly close to how events really unfolded since it was published. Stevenson's writing style paints vivid pictures with few words. The different plot lines come together almost perfectly by the end, which arrived faster than I liked. If you're a techie, this is essentially a must-read. | ||||

| This guy always drags me in, just for the absurdity and the diverse settings, but always feel like a couple turnss, and when you pull back and look at it, a little dirty, realizing the sexual protragonit is a 15 yo girl | ||||
