| È un libro storico che per primo introduce il concetto di metaverse (ora ripreso per realizzarlo davvero) e di avatar (già usato in un videogioco, come citato dall'autore, ma non sviluppato con le diverse implicazioni). Ha un andamento discontinuo alternando momenti di grande tensione (spesso inutili per lo svolgimento della linea narrativa, ma molto godibili), con momenti da pseudo-cultura (per altro documentata). Apre interessanti possibilità e riflessioni su metaverse, ma anche sullo sviluppo della società, che nei successivi 30 anni stiamo vedendo che si stanno indirizzando nelle direzioni che qui vengono esplorate nelle diverse implicazioni. Potrebbe ad alcuni sembrare troppo discontinuo, ma le occasioni di riflessione sono interessanti e molti meccanismi narrativi decisamente coinvolgenti. | ||||

| The paper and print quality is pathetic. It's the same as the cheap newspapers which has more paper btw for 5 rs. It feel like the price should have been somewhere around 100 rs Or less. As for the content, Neal Stephenson's writing is top notch. | ||||

| This is one of those novels that requires an investment at the beginning and provides an incredible payoff throughout until the very end. There are so many genres tumbled up into this one that I cannot identify a single description that would do it justice. All I can really say is — read it! | ||||

| I continue to read Stephenson's books now and again (particularly when they show up on the Kindle $1.99 list), and my reaction is always the same. First, I can't put it down because his prose is just so readable... Second, I get bogged down in the philosophy and history and technology, which is either too arcane or not detailed enough (or, in the case of Snow Crash, both)... Third, the payoff is jejune, playing out like a bad action movie with an even worse director. So I'm left thinking the book was kind of fun and breezy, but I can't say I'd recommend it. And, oh yeah, there's a 15-year-old teen having sex with an adult. It's necessary as a plot point (though weirdly described), but totally inappropriate, even for a book written in 2003, way before #metoo. It's statutory rape. The sad thing is that the teenager could easily have been 19 and it wouldn't have changed the story or plotlines at all. So it makes me wonder a little bit about the author himself..... | ||||

| I would’ve probably rated 3.5 stars if I could but 4 is more accurate than 3. I liked it as a fairly serious futuristic sci fi novel that didn’t take itself too seriously while being deeply researched in some areas such as the history of religions and linguistics. Overall, I thought it was a quite good and thoroughly entertaining read. | ||||

| The first section about our hero making ends meet in the real world was a little bit of a slow start. I do understand that this was part of setting the scene, so was called for. The main story is gripping though if you like this sort of futuristic story which I do. | ||||
