| Fun to read until the ridiculous finale, which made no sense. Sue Grafton is just great with wry humor and observations, marvelous, believable dialogue, and poetic descriptions. She weaves a very exciting plot which piques one's interest. Unfortunately , it all completely decompensates during the final twenty pages; employing Perils of Pauline silliness in confrontation with the villain, and leaving the reader thinking "HUH?" In this case, the entire town's hostility remained unexplained. It seemed like Grafton got tired of writing and just patched together some nutty bizarre conclusion. | ||||

| definitely not her best work. I won't hold it against her though...I'll continue to read whatever she writes. This one however....save to the last. Not because it's good but quite the opposite. Predictable and well...kind of boring. | ||||
