I just love Nelson DeMille and his prodigiously talented writing style. This is the second book by Nelson DeMille that I've read and added to my literature collection with great alacrity. By the way, the first was The General's Daughter, which made an interesting reading as well. Anyways, back to the main subject. One of the factors that turned this book into such a great page-turner was that the story contained a plethora of the so-called "cat and mouse game" that was quite out of the ordinary. The main man, Keith Landry, and his sweetheart Annie, together tries their best to escape from the belligerent and autocratic police chief (which just happens to be Annie's husband), and I truly believe that the thrill of the story lays in the escape attempts than in any other parts of the book. Do you know the feeling that you get when you're playing hide-and-go-seek and the "go seeker" is only inches away from you but he doesn't see you for some odd reason? Well, that's the kind of thrill that I'm talking about and that's the kind of thrill that you'll experience as you turn the pages of this book. You gotta love Nelson DeMille. | ||||
