| 短編だが、読み始めると豊かな 描写力と奇想天外な内容に グイグイ惹き込まれる。 かの人は真の文豪だと 思い知らされる名作！ ・ ・ ・ ※以下ネタバレが含まれる内容ですが、 ラストについて少し… 解釈は大体二通り、原稿は真実であり、 隠れていた男が嘘にする為、後の 手紙を出した。 もう一つは、そのまま作家志望の人物の 創作した作品だったというもの。 最初のは良いとして、後の考察には 謎が残る。 まず、あまりにも書斎や夫人の内情に 詳し過ぎるという点。 椅子の形状や由来がちょっとでも違えば、 夫人を慄かせたこのリアリティは 出ない訳である。 そこで思い至るのが、一部で言われている 夫人の才気で影が薄くなった夫が仕掛けた 復讐説。 自分の書斎で我が物顔で筆を振るう妻、 ある意味では尻に敷かれた夫の嫉妬と愛情が 書かせた、歪んだラブレターだったのでは？ と私は考えたりします。 どちらにしても何とも業の深い話、 短いながら、色々な考察が成り立つのも 流石、江戸川乱歩の作品です！ | ||||

| 椅子の中に人がはいりこむ。なんて突飛な素敵なことを乱歩は考えつくんでしょう。私も一度やってみたい。その不思議な感覚の世界、とぎすまされた触覚と嗅覚と聴覚の世界に惑溺したい。私の上にのしかかってくるであろうあまたの女体。丸裸の肉体におしつぶされる快感。やわらかな声音にさわやかな匂い。それらを革一枚隔てただけで貪り味わえる歓び。究極の禁断の恋・・。 と、ここまでモーソーして、ふと不安になった。私が閉所恐怖症であることをすっかり忘れていた。椅子の中にすっぽりはいりこむということは、真黒な、息苦しい、まるで生き埋めされたような状態になるということではないか。こわくてＭＲＩ検査も受けられない私にはとうてい無理っす。残念だがあきらめよう。私と同様、よんどころのない理由で椅子になることを断念した読者は多いと思う。 | ||||

| First of all this is the best writer I have read in a very long time. Thoughts and events are communicated clearly and in each event the writer paints a clear picture in your head I loved this book. Completely different than I expected, but in a refreshing way. I hate reading reviews that give everything away, so as a heads up, there are no spoilers here. | ||||

| 食わず嫌いでしたが、同名のロックバンドに衝撃を受け、その名の由来を確かめるために読みました。好き嫌いはともかく読後に何かが残ります。その何かをバンド人間椅子が見事に表現しています。 | ||||

| Started reading this book earlier on a flight from New York, about 10 hours ago. Between plane changes, doing laundry, and dinner it is now 12:30 am and I work in 8 hours. Possibly the only weak link was that I was not surprised by the ending - indeed expected it. But maybe this was also intended by the author. I hope many others will read this wonderful book, and the author will write more very soon. | ||||

| I don't know why I bought this book as it isn't something I'd usually go for. It is different but I really did enjoy it. Wow! I read this book in two evenings. I struggled to put it down. It was captivating. This book is so good! I have a hard time finding books that hook me and/or keep me interested, but I couldn't put this one down. A great book, a must read and very difficult to put down when you start reading it. | ||||

| 「人間椅子」と聞くと人の骨と皮で椅子を作るのかと恐怖してしまいましたが「トロイの木馬」みたいな話ですね。 ２通の手紙から物語は成りますが「藪の中」のようにいくつかの視点で解釈も出来ます。 ( ひとつは当然のことながら江戸川乱歩が書いた話という見方 ) ひとつは美しい閨秀作家の佳子がＫ雑誌の夏の増大号のために自分自身を主人公として書いた創作という見方。 ひとつは２通目の手紙そのままに佳子の愛読者が書いて送ってきた創作という見方。 もっとも面白い解釈は「人間椅子」はすべて実際にあったことで２通目の手紙は１通目に書いたことは嘘だったことにして罪を逃れるためという見方です。 手紙には「Ｙ市の道具店で買われ官吏の邸の書斎に置かれ…」「夫人が食事と就寝の時間を除いて…」など人間椅子でなければ知りえないことが書いてあります。 事実か確かめるためにも椅子を調べてみたいものです。 「彼に附属した汚いもの」がそこに残されているのか？ | ||||

| こういう荒唐無稽な作品はリアリティをいかに見せかけるかが肝で、そこが上手くないとつまらなくなる。乱歩のペンネームの元であるポーはその辺が非常に優れているのだが、乱歩自身は正直下手で多くの駄作がある。が本作は良い。乱歩得意の奇抜な妄想がぎりぎりのリアリティの中で如何なく発揮され、読後の何だか煙に巻かれような気分も悪くない。 | ||||

| Changed my life. That sounds so cliche right? But seriously. When I ordered this book, I got it on audio book as a treat for my vacation. My choice was between a thriller and this book. I am glad I chose this one. Satisfying read. After finally getting around to reading this popular book, one of the most iconic of the past decade, I feel comfortable saying that it deserved all the attention and praise it received. Not just for highly interesting and surprising content, but for the valuable lessons it provides. | ||||
