| 十蘭先生の作品といえばいままでは河出文庫、岩波文庫であらかた出尽くしていて、でも出版されたらすぐ売り切れになってしまう幻の作品になりつつあります。これがこの度角川から出版されたことには大変意味があります。 内容については、言うまでもないでしょう。「あなたも私も」という、十蘭先生の作品には珍しい長編というか中編です。でもこれもよく見ていくと、短い小説の集まりのように思えて、最後であっさりすべてがわかるような、ハッとするトリックがあります。文章の美しさ、人物の清廉さ、本当に読んでいて気持ちいい。これほどの小説家はあと100年経っても現れないでしょうね。 角川さんGoodJoB！！ | ||||

| 書き出し、も大切であるが、この物語の“書き入れ”はこうだ。 ＜ウラニウム爆弾だの、死の灰だの、血なまぐさい話をしたあとでは、この山ノ辺への静けさがなにかありがたくて、サト子は涙を落すところだった。＞ これが本当の“おしまい”かどうかはよくわからないが、何だか突然パアッとレモン汁だかが飛び散ったようで、妙に納得してしまった。＜血なまぐさい話＞とは、「自らも知らぬ間に、時価十三億円の鉱業権の相続人に指定されていた！」ことにまつわるエトセトラであるが、ここにもある通り、ヒロイン＝サト子にとっては、何ほどのことでもない、いや、むしろこのことじたいは忌避したいことがらであったようだ。 要するに、このたびの顛末は、これら「一攫千金のにおいをかぎつけた実業家や弁護士ら」の有象無象―それは、＜三十二枚の歯をそっくりみせて＞笑ったり、＜どう見てもトニーなにがしの弟子＞だったり、＜愛してるだの、好きだのということのほか、話題がないみたい＞な連中、あるいは、さも＜人間のいのちを、いとおしむために、戦争をしてみる必要＞があるとでもいわんばかりの人びとの群像劇を目の当たりにする機会であった、にすぎない。もちろん、彼女の生活は貧乏という境遇に規定されていた。＜ファッション・モデルという職業も、好きではない。この仕事に適しているとも、考えていない。期待も、希望もない。食べるためだけのために、行きあたりばったりに、漂い流れている感じ…頭のなかがいそがしくて、ひとを愛している暇もない。愛されたいとも、思っていない。＞＜二十四という中途半端な年ごろの、娘の心のなかにある意相のすべては、どれもみな情緒たっぷりで、真実からはほど遠いところで霞んでいる。＞ それを見透かされて、＜あなたの神経衰弱ノイローゼは、生活のなかに、大切なものが足りないせいなの。精神を高めて、生きて行く張りあいを感じさせる、希望といったようなものが…＞などと指摘されもする。 貧乏なサト子の望みは、＜OSSで缶詰や腸詰を山ほど買いこんで、西荻窪の部屋へ帰って、そんなものに取巻かれながら、二三日、安心してごろっちゃらしていたい＞というものだ。「雲の上の散歩」という章で、サト子は、それを叶えてしまう。いや、それ以上の経験をする。＜この五日、サト子は広大な洋館の翼屋で、のうのうと暮らしていた。＞＜宙に浮いている感じは、スポンジの寝椅子に寝るときだけではなくて、ここの生活自体が、雲の上の青い天界を散歩しているような、のどかなおもむきがあった。＞ところが、＜食べる心配がないときまると、あんなにも叫びつづけていた胃袋が急にだまりこんでしまい、思うほど食べものを受付けてくれない＞のだ。 貧乏性と言えばそれまでだが、＜祖父の死や、神月の自殺や、偽ドルのかかわりあい、質の悪い外国人に国外へ連れだされかけたゴタゴタのあと、麻布の家の夢のような贅沢な生活からほうりだされてから＞、サト子は＜地道な職業につきたい＞と強く願うのだ。これは、周りに流されたくない、強い意思の表明だ。それをお釈迦様のてのひらの上の孫悟空といった体でかかわる秋川という人物もいるが、それはそれ。これは、「あなたも私も」誰もが経験するようなことではないかもしれないが、「あなたも私も」共感してしまう平凡なバランス感覚をもった稀有な冒険譚である。 尚、町田康氏による[解説]にはまったく感心した。以上は、彼の解説の言い換えにしか過ぎない。 | ||||

| I don't often write reviews about books I've read because I don't feel like I could do a good job, but this is one not to miss if you love a great book. Give it a chance. You'll see what I mean. What I do know is that you will not be able to put this book down. I read so many books that the stories are enjoyed but many are quietly forgotten. | ||||

| I found this approach to be deeply soothing and engaging, in a way that touched me deep in my core. I have recommended the book to many people and love discussing it with others. Can you tell, I absolutely loved it! Can't wait to see what the author comes up with next! There are so many truths in the book that I think all individuals (not just women) can and should hear and apply to themselves in whatever manner makes sense for them. | ||||

| I highly recommend you get a cup of cocoa, sit down by the fire and enjoy! I do actually recommend the kindle version because you really feel the impact of this book It is an amazing book so many can relate to. This is a book you absolutely don’t want to miss! | ||||

| My own heart was full when I finished this book. I read this on my Kindle, and I kept checking the % to see how much I had left. When I reached 67% I wanted to slow my reading down because I didn't want this book to end. However, the story was so lovely and gripping that I couldn't stop. I finished the last page with a sigh and then thought about the book the rest of the day | ||||

| I must say, it was the title that caught my interest (and maybe later on the blurb), but goodness, I was captured after the second paragraph on the very first page of the story. It did not disappoint. I ordered this book on a whim — I was out of things to read and if I added it to my order, I got free same-day shipping. I saw that it was included in my friend's Book Club so I figured it would be worth a gander. Little did I know I was ordering what would become an instant favorite member of my bookshelf. | ||||

| I read this only in a matter of a few days. I think I just finished 2018 saving the best book for last! Can you tell, I absolutely loved it! Can't wait to see what the author comes up with next! I am extremely stingy with my compliments for good books, but this tale is well-deserving of the praise. Of the last dozen or so books I've read, only two others earned five complete stars by me. | I read this book in two nights, although it too until 4 a.m one night (couldn’t stop). I wouldn’t mind reading about these people again. There was a lot left open for further development. It appealed to me that much. Do yourself a favor and read this book. | ||||

| おそらく久生十蘭の最晩年の作品と思われる長篇。 読みごたえがあり、ミステリーとしても上質で、 何より原子力関係を扱う斬新さと内部事情の明るさに 驚いた。 当時、もう高齢であるはずの著者が若い女性の心理を よく描いているのにも驚いた。読んでいただきたい作品。 | ||||
