I thought I had read all of Prozini's Nameless detective stories, but somehow I missed this one. It was a nice surprise to stumble across it and then get to read it. His stories are always nimble and a pleasure to read. They are always satisfying.

Pure fun to read --- and q quick read too! Nameless is a detective in San Francisco. Read this series in order --- gives the reader background and past history. Pronzini's books are full or marvelous metaphors, clever descriptions, and similes that make me smile. And the plot always has surprises and twist that are unexpected.
