| This book is as real as it gets. If you read this book you'll never be the same! Read this book!! I believe anyone can find something that they can relate to in this book. If someone comes to me about weight loss, dreams, goals, or even just every day issues then I tell them they need to read this book because they will come out with exactly what they need & then some. This book is a tool that will help you change your life for the better. A well told story ,mainly about life, death ,and how one is able to come to terms with grief and deal with it . | ||||

| Bravo, Well written!! Recommended if you like suspense and unexpected twists and turns. I highly recommend this book to everyone. The writing was excellent. The plotting was fantastic. And the character development was wonderful. Short review: read it. I will re-read this story and always look forward to, pre-order when possible, new works by this author. | ||||

| So much emotion, and written so beautifully that you could truly feel it all. It was a wonderful story, very difficult to put down, I really enjoyed this. I read so many books that the stories are enjoyed but many are quietly forgotten. This book if for all the struggling souls in the internet age. | ||||

| Just a very good read. My husband cant stop talking about this book. My turn to read it. This book is so good! I have a hard time finding books that hook me and/or keep me interested, but I couldn't put this one down. If you're having troubles in life and simply can't figure out what you're doing wrong, this is a fantastic place to start. Good luck on your journey! I wish I had purchased this book sooner. | ||||

| What an amazing book. Intimate. Intricate. But author is geographically challenged Absolutely the best book I've had the privilege to read so far this year. The author's writing flows beautifully; it sings Don't even think of NOT reading this book. I gave it 5 stars, simply because that was all there was. 10 stars would have been better. | ||||

| 坂口安吾の作品はすごく直截的だ。直球勝負で、ぼやかしたり迷うところが感じられない。最初の２作品では、どこに向かっても、誰に対してもその姿勢が変わらないことを必死に主張しているように思える。それが矜持だと感じる。しかし、この作家は怖い。意味なく人におごったりする気持ちを持つ一方で、相手を突き放しているという。人間嫌い。他人との関係が固定的に維持されることを嫌っているのだろうか。それでも肉欲からは離れない。矛盾した寂しがり屋なのかも知れない。 「ジロリの女」が面白い。彼がどういう女を苦手として、どういう女を相手にするのか。そして女のためにどんなに奔走するかという事が克明に描かれている。ある意味、普通の神経では書けない、自虐的に映る作品だ。主人公を女に置き換えたのが、それに続く「行雲流水」と言えようか。最後に食らうお仕置きは作家が深層心理で求めているものなのではないかと穿ってしまう。 解説でも指摘しているが、表題作の「肝臓先生」を作家に重ねるのが一般的な評価のようだが、残念ながら比較対象になっている「ドン・キホーテ」をまだちゃんと読んだことはない。ただ、「信念に基づいた猪突猛進」という意味では適切な例えだと思える。 | ||||

| 『魔の退屈』は安吾の自伝的小説の一つですが、これが中々いいです。 戦争を題材とした小説や随想の中では最も読み易くまとまっていると思います。 『私は海をだきしめていたい』には筋書きらしい筋書きがありませんが、 点在するアフォリズムが中々よろしいです。 「肉慾すらも孤独でありうることを見出した私は、もうこれからは、 幸福を探す必要はなかった。私は甘んじて、不幸を探しもとめればよかった。」 という一節に惚れました。 『ジロリの女』はいかにも安吾さんらしい痴情小説でした。 『行雲流水』はほんのり痴情くさい小話でした。 『肝臓先生』は、「そういうお医者様がいたんだね〜」くらいの感覚で読み流しました。 全体的に、ファン以外の方向けのキャッチーなお話は無いです。 『白痴』『青鬼の褌を洗う女』あたりが気に入った方は手を出しても大丈夫かもしれません。 | ||||

| この本に収められている「私は海をだきしめていたい」は坂口安吾の小説の中でも特に好きな小説です。 主人公の男女は貞操観念がなく受動的に思えるのですが、自分の肉欲の限界を、自分の存在の限界を、「海」という絶対的な存在の前に感じさせるラストの段の美しさにこの小説家の大きさを感じました。 いつまでも忘れることの出来ない物語です。 池内紀さんの解説も素晴らしい！ | ||||

| 私が坂口安吾に飢えている時は、厭世的な気分になっているのが常で、そしてその文章は、作品により程度の差はあれ、決して爽快だとか楽観だとか、一義的な明るいイメージを起こさせるものは少ない。しかしこの作品を読んで感動の余り途中から涙が止まらなくなった。心が本当に弱ったら読み返して、冗談抜きに最後の詩を口ずさんでしまう私。感情をあんまり露にしない私の友人迄、同じことをやっているらしい・・・。私は直截的に励ましを受けるのが煩い質なので余計だが、流行のポジティブシンキング本に身に積まされる痛い部分を指摘されて余計落ち込むよりは、この本を買って読んで欲しい。 | ||||
