As good as his best. A fitting tribute to the incredible skill, intelligence, and dedication of the men and women who serve in the highly complex world of air operations.

I enjoy Dale Brown's twists and turns as he takes you through the complex world of modern aircraft flight and fighting. This brought back memories around my own experiences with inflight refueling and high speed low level flight, carrier landings and possible interception.

Chains of Command. This book is written for any one who has been in the USAAF as it was full of their jargon. To any one else it was totally fragmented and boring.

Brown came through again with another high flying Air Force story that is not far from every day happenings. Good characters too!

Usual good writing but he just gets too carried away with hardware details and nomenclature.

to much military jargon from types of aircraft to armaments. Not enough story too much description of planes and such. Military pilots would love general public probably not

Plot okay, didn't care for author's writing style.

Dale Brown's still the king of the aerial combat genre. He writes like a fighter pilot and brings the stick and rudder technology of today's fighter jets together with Tom Clancy-esque action prose. Deep detail, rich descriptions and action that will occasionally have you feeling the negative g-force of suddenly going inverted to attack, or avoid, an enemy fighter. His character development isn't obsessively deep, but he more than makes up for that with the action.

You either like this genre of literature or you don't; I do. So I found this book like all of his books interesting, fun, attention grabbing, and a pleasure to read.

I loved this books as I am an avid aviation enthusiast. I specifically enjoyed the detailed description of the workings of the planes and their systems. Although the book was written some time ago, it is quite relevant due to Russia invading the Ukraine.
