| As indicated in the subject, it was a book to keep you on the edge of your seat most of the time, but I found myself skipping over vast amounts of detail about weapons systems and character biographical information. I'm a fan of the author and will look for additional books from him. I would recommend the book for military and/or political buffs. | ||||

| Definitely a good read, HOWEVER, the author spends way too much time with the technical aspects of the aircraft and very little time focusing on the personal individual aspects of the characters. Despite the need to wade through the technical descriptions of the aircraft and other technical matter - that this reader had little knowledge of and about - and having to wade through to the crucial parts of the book's theme, I found it interesting and even enlightening vis-a-vis of the abilities of pilots and the myriad of items they must master while "driving" the multi-million dollar aircraft. | ||||

| I have been catching up on early Dale Brown works. Chains of Command, while written over a decade ago, is as current as today's headlines. Another reason to re-read the earlier Dale Brown books. His later works seem to be struggling for content and the characters are not a rich as those depicted in this book. | ||||

| This is a great story that I highly recommend every one to read. It sounds like current events of today that is happening over in Russia and the Ukrainian now even though this book was written back in 1999. Who would have thought that the war that is happening over there now could have been written that long ago. It would seem that Dale Brown could see in the future to be able to write about current events that are happening now. I would highly rank this book up there with all of great novel's of our time. Please read this book for it is a real eye opener and makes you think and wonder if this story can come true in all aspects of current events. I will leave it up to you the next reader of this story and decide for yourself. I really do hope that you do purchase or borrow this book and post your own opinions on this book and feel the same way that I do. I promise this book will leave you thinking about what is going to happen next. I greatly thank everyone who reads this review and I hope it will inspire you to read this book. | ||||

| To say this is an epic story is an understatement. From the very beginning to the surprise ending, it was hard to put down. Some might not like the length, but I found great delight in reading each line and found myself hanging on each page. Thanks Dale for your story telling craft. | ||||
