I recognize this was written almost 30 years ago when in-flight technology was considerably different from today, or so I am told. Dale Brown, as a former Air Force Captain, pilot, and instructor, has a commanding grasp of aerial combat maneuvers and tactics; his descriptions of in-flight combat were impressive and riveting at times. My biggest issue with this book, however, is that it was poorly copy-edited and proofread. The punctuation is generally minimal and sometimes quite poor, and the number of typographical errors and misspellings is mind-boggling for an accomplished author and publisher. Character development is OK, but this is the fourth book in the series and the only one I have read. I likely will not read the others.

Good story line. Seemed to bog down in places as the author tried to explain what he intended to say.

I like the Dale Brown series but this book had numerous typos. I'm no grammar nazi but expect a best seller not to have as many errors as this print did. I lost count but I love the action of his books and have read many of them

Be prepared to learn of another world of air combat and Russian spies. Hero's aplenty and amazing air craft. Good read...definitely.

Good book. The beginning requires special attention to details in order to comprehend the middle and end. The end is spectacular the middle drags a bit.

Excellent story of future technology - thought controlled aircraft (shades of Firefox with Clint Eastwood). As an Air Force Computer Systems Officer, I saw a video presentation of a new helmet under development that would pick up certain electrical impulses from a skull cap worn by a pilot. Those impulses could trigger certain functionality in the aircraft's systems. In the video I saw a pilot touch a touch-screen radar display, then touched the symbol for the left wing tip weapon (AIM-9L). There was an immediate 'growl' over the audio and then the pilot 'thought' of the word 'Launch' and the weapon came off the rail. That was back in the late 1980's at the Air Force Wright Aeronautical Laboratory at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.

The story was suspenseful which made me want to read longer each time than I had planned to read. It was filled with action although the ultimate outcome was slightly different than I had expected. Overall, I enjoyed the book.

Day of the Cheetah is a four & a half star book. Full of action which Dale Brown is noted for. If you enjoy military reads you will love this one.

I liked the intricate plot and the cast of characters. The opening scenes reminded me of DeMille's "The Charm School". The description of the dogfights was particularly interesting. The flood of details and jargon is a bit overwhelming even for a career officer, and does little to advance the plot. Someone who liked the minute details presented here might give this more stars.

Extremely engrossing. Great action and intrigue on every page. Best of Patrick McLanahans exploits yet. Plot has many twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat.
