Crappy printing of a legendary novel.

I love this book, this is the third copy I've bought. It's dreadful pulp and poor printing. Murdoch seems to be really running down Penguin.

Good Book Only wish I'd have read it years ago, when it came out.

This was a good book and would have been even better had I read it when it came out. Some of the lingo is a bit corny and dated now but would not have been circa 1992. Still a super fun read with brilliant concepts. I particularly enjoyed the comparisons that the authors draws between: ancient religions, information societies, monotheism, dualism and binary code. I will be reading more Stephenson for sure!

I rather enjoyed it

I rather enjoyed it. I thought there was some major bogging down in the middle where a lot of exposition happened, and maybe could have been simplified. But, I enjoyed it a good deal anyways.

Didn’t love it

Guess I was expecting more. I’ve read so much about this book over the years and it didn’t live up to the reputation for me. Perhaps getting dated. Interestingly he did predict the emergence of innovations in skateboards which we see today. Not specifically but generally - nobody is harpooning cars for a ride just yet :-) Perhaps it’s better to pick up one of his new novels to enjoy the speculation on future innovations more.

A race to Oblivion ending in the world's biggest self aggrandizing advertisement.

Jumpy in parts, boring in others but still an enjoyable read that is not as complex as his other works. Good characterizations and hilarious stereotypes. Insightful at times with laughter and entertainment for all.

Great book but...

...but Penguin have thought it clever to insert their logo between each chapter in this Kindle edition. This is absurdly intrusive. Returned accordingly.

Fascinating book, insightful and so well-written

At an Intelligence conference, a speaker asked the audience how many had read 'Snow Crash?" 2/3 of the hands in the room shot up ... I'd never even heard of the book, but I thought I'd better read it, now.

Fun but silly

Firstly I was amazed this book was released in 1992, the prescience shown by Stephenson is impressive, much of the virtual world and the tech used to access it seems perfectly believable by today's standards.

As for the story it is for the most part a fast paced adventure but it gets lost in places, I found myself skipping ahead through the discussions about aincent civilisations.

An incredible read

I read this book when Adam Savage recommended it recently. Both the plot and the story visuals are truly amazing, I'll remember this book for a very long time.

A good read for current times.

Parts of the book are a bit dated. Using radio waves to log online when not at home.

But the scary thing about this book is the world it lives in seems more possible now than when it was written. Neal Stephenson always does a good job, but this is my favorite by far,

An all-time classic

This is one of the seminal works of modern science fiction. It’s full speed, punk futurism with a great sense of humour and a great story backed up by all
sorts of research. You can’t claim to be a literate cyberpunk fan without having read this book.
