This may be my favorite book of all time

This may be my favorite book of all time. I love the bit about how every man believes he is the baddest man on the planet until he is about 25, and after that he'll continue thinking so until he inevitably runs into someone even badder than him. I'm 34 and still going strong. ;)

a Mess

I really wish I had back the time spent reading this book. I believe the writer had trouble keeping track of his settings, characters, motivations,etc; in short...what was he smoking?
Not well written, not paced, no thought given to time continuity. If you put about ten books into a blender and hit 'frappe' I believe you might get this book. No. That book might make more sense than this collection of sentences.

Deep Structures

This is my 3rd time with this title. The first time I bought the paperback from amazon fairly close to the date it came out. The second time I bought the audible version, and now the kindle version. The book is just as fresh and compelling as it was the first time. I find myself dwelling over the details much more this time than before. Quite possible required reading for anyone who works in software development.

Wait that's it?

Amazing writing and research really make this novel stand out. Good pacing and setting keep the pages turning. Characters are fairly developed and relatable. The ending, however, left me hanging big time. But upon further examination was really fitting. Overall a great read

The maximalist flood of ancient language/religion esoterica held up pretty well

Aw, man. I was reading this for a book club (20 years after my first read) and it was a bit dated. But that's the price of being cutting edge, I guess. I was a little put off by the level of sexual activity of the 15 year old co-main character, but maybe that is just me being politically correct. Rapid fire science fiction

Very good, very different book. I've read a lot of science fiction, but this was definitely a new twist. The action came quickly and with rapid fire writing, the characters were interesting and I was carried along in the rush of machine gun like prose. Definitely worth a read.

20 Years On and Still a Great Read

I first read "Snow Crash" in the early 90s and was immediately hooked on Neal Stephanson's writing. Since then I've read all of his other fiction, often times pre-ordering. Yes, I'm a fan. Reading "Snow Crash" again was great fun. The book exhibits the elements of whimsy and humor to great effect - elements that seems to have disappeared from Stephenson's later work. Overall, well worth a re-visit.
