Worth waiting for! Strong characters in a superb Deaver plot - twists and turns abound!

Solid summer read. I found Pellam slightly boring at first but really ended up liking him by the end. This is my first Jeff Deaver book, so I am eager to see how the rest measure up.

A movie location scout does exactly what the name suggests -- finds locations for location shooting of a movie.
You might think this would be a fairly safe job. After all, it's a matter of working through a list of desired locations and reaching agreements with the owners to use those locations and with local officials to impose on the town for a while.
But here there are problems: his partner is shot, everybody believes it was an accident, our hero gets fired but stays around, and then things /really/ get exciting.
And dangerous. And deadly.
With a surprise at the end.

Started slow but turned very good. A number of potential bad guys throughout the story and all developed very well.

Worth the time to read.

Einer der Romane aus dem Frühwerk Deavers, das sich durch besonders spannende Plots und überraschende Wendungen auszeichnet. Exzellent entwickelt, packend und inzwischen fast schon ein Klassiker. Deavers letzte Bücher erreichen dieses Niveau nicht immer, insofern lohnt es sich, seine früheren Romane wieder zu lesen.
