| I have been catching up on early Dale Brown works. Chains of Command, while written over a decade ago, is as current as today's headlines. Another reason to re-read the earlier Dale Brown books. His later works seem to be struggling for content and the characters are not a rich as those depicted in this book. | ||||

| This is a great story that I highly recommend every one to read. It sounds like current events of today that is happening over in Russia and the Ukrainian now even though this book was written back in 1999. Who would have thought that the war that is happening over there now could have been written that long ago. It would seem that Dale Brown could see in the future to be able to write about current events that are happening now. I would highly rank this book up there with all of great novel's of our time. Please read this book for it is a real eye opener and makes you think and wonder if this story can come true in all aspects of current events. I will leave it up to you the next reader of this story and decide for yourself. I really do hope that you do purchase or borrow this book and post your own opinions on this book and feel the same way that I do. I promise this book will leave you thinking about what is going to happen next. I greatly thank everyone who reads this review and I hope it will inspire you to read this book. | ||||

| To say this is an epic story is an understatement. From the very beginning to the surprise ending, it was hard to put down. Some might not like the length, but I found great delight in reading each line and found myself hanging on each page. Thanks Dale for your story telling craft. | ||||

| I liked the story but hated the president and specifically the 1st lady characters. It should be a very strong wake up call for this November's elections. The libs are ruining our military & our ability to defend ourselves.Think this story or something like it could not happen for real? Think again.... | ||||

| The book starts in 1991 at the opening of Desert Storm. But, it quickly moves to 1995. Valentin Valicheko replaces Boris Yeltsin in the Kremlin and President Freeman and his powerful wife are in the White House. Freeman has never been in the military. He drastically reduces the size of the U.S. military and want to avoid war at all costs. Vlicheko senses that the U.S. is weak and invades the Ukraine to regain of the territory that Russia lost when the Soviet Union dissolved. Lots of good flying ensues. A good read. | ||||

| For those of us that enjoy reading about possible current events regarding NATO, Soviet, and American forces mixing it up. This is sure to please even the ones that demand accurate, well researched, and likely scenarios. The author goes to great lengths to provide character development, background information, and technical information adding to the experience. Well done! On a personal note, many years have passed, I relived many experiences, bases, and similar characters as described in this we'll written story. Reinforced pride in our service member's service past, present and future. I recommend this author highly. You will not be disappointed. | ||||
