Very interesting premise. If you like his other books this is a really quick read.

A book with big ideas. I’ve read it twice (a few years apart) and I still think there and some more concepts in there to contemplate.

Please don't tell me you seriously think you need to read the reviews before buying this. You are looking at what is possibly the most important book ever written in the ever-expanding world of technology/geek/sci-fi subculture. Clearly the inspiration for Ready Player One, and beloved by sci-fi and tech fans the world over, this is essential culture-defining fiction for anyone involved with tech, gaming, VR, pizza, or covert ops. Arguably Stephenson's most brilliant work--and that's saying something. If you liked Ready Player One, read this--it was written long before RPO, and is considered it's grandfather--and is arguably a better book.

Classic.

One of the greatest science fiction novels you will ever read, it reads just like an action movie. Every chapter reads like a movie scene. The book has software/hacking, sword fights, virtual reality, motorcycles, reality TV (before it was invented).

'Snow Crash' is funny, action-packed and thoughtful. A great combination of high-concept sci-fi, cyberpunk action , and social satire that never gets too serious or preachy. Fun and thoughtful.

After owning, lending, and ultimately losing the physical copy of this particular novel 13 times I finally bought a digital copy. Now, when I suggest to people that their lives have not been properly stimulated due to their lack of Snow Crash, I no longer have to inevitably buy a new copy. I've lent a lot of books in my day, this is the only one people never return.

This is one of my favorite books. Stephenson tells a great story. Right up there with Cryptonomicon and Anathem. Can't wait for his next book.

I love reading a work by an author who had the foresight to see what at the time was barely imaginable.

It's an over-the-top book about a katana-weilding hacker, pizza delivery man and a skateboarding kourier (spelled as it's in the book) navigating an absud world full of mafiosa, corrupt police, and a nuclear warhead. It's an incredibly fun and outrageous read.

Stephenson is one of my favorite authors, and as with Cryptonomicon, this book has a great story line, excellent characters, and the best, funniest dialog ever. Some of his books are pretty questionable as far as fun is concerned (don't waste your time on Quicksilver, for example), but this is one of his best.

Great book. A little on the SyFi side. But with Virtual Reality mixed with computer viruses it becomes very real probable issue.

Some of the dialogue and writing seems a bit almost dated. As he looked to craft a future dialect. But fun read.

Bought this to come uo to speed on Virtual Reality culture. Thoroughly enjoying the story!

Bravura opening scene introducing main characters. However, it is bizarre and a bit hard to follow. I did enjoy the blend of tech and linguistics and the concept of a language meme changing brains. But this philosophical exegesis gets pretty deep in to the weeds.

Fun and compelling premise. The idea of human machine interface and the exchange of more than commands and responses.

Definitely written by a fellow Nerd/Geek. The opening line says it all. I really like this book.

A fantastic book which has until recently has been very hard to find. As a 'primer' on cyber space/avatars it is second only to Neuromancer. I read it just as I got into computing and it was invaluable. I am particularly happy at downloading it from t'internet.

Great read from start to finish. Good world building and nice race to the finish. Definitely would recommend! Rat Thing for the win!
