Glad to have this favorite in my library

A really, really interesting book. I’m going to be thinking about it for a while.

Though my first reaction is to say: YT, chill out, you horndog.

Otherwise, this novel is a neat AU, with expansive worldbuilding and lots of nice twists and turns. The pacing is excellent throughout, so reading never felt like a chore.

The underlying concepts reminded me a lot of the movie Genocidal Organ, so if you like that, you’ll like this (and vice versa). All in all, I enjoyed this book immensely.

This is a must read for any sci-if fan - dive in to the Metaverse you won't be disappointed I guarantee it

One of the truly great science fiction novels. Fast paced, exciting, and reads like an action movie written by the smartest, funniest guy you know.

Perhaps the best SciFi writer I've ever read. This being his short dimensional vision and Diamond Age being the deeper vision of the age. I highly recommend this novel.

An excellent book that at first I worried was going to be too much like Ready Player One (I realize it was actually a precursor of the latter) but it was very different, and better. A lot of the imagined future holds up surprisingly well given how long ago it was written.

Not what I was expecting, written in an interesting style and still has all of the great depth you get in Stephenson’s other works. Would recommend to anyone.

An extremely fun story wrapped up in Sumerian mythology with samurai swords, futuristic internet surfing, thrashers, and the Mafia. It also encapsulates just how paranoid the American government can be. There's quite a bit of satire done from various characters worldviews. This application enhances the personality of certain characters and is definitely a good laugh. Highly recommended.

Great story, as expected from Neal Stephenson

Read this 20 years ago when most of it was science fiction, now it’s more like fiction. Great story of in a very readable way

Let's be direct: bought on reputation after reading "Cryptonomicon" and "Anathem", both fairly intellectual. I loved reading Snowcrash, it felt like a graphic novel where text suggests images while you fill in the blanks in the bubbles

Neal Stephenson is my new favorite. Interesting concepts again with very well developed, quirky characters that you care about.

Habe das Buch bestellt, nachdem klar wurde, das Amazon das als Serie produzieren wird. Cyberpunk liebe ich sowieso, und es wurde einfach mal Zeit für diesen Klassiker.
Die Hauptfiguren sind cool und rotzig erzählt, der ganze Computerkram natürlich ein bisschen retro, aber alles genau so, wie man es gerne hat.
Allerdings kann ich nicht unbedingt empfehlen, das Buch auf Englisch zu lesen - ich bin eigentlich sehr geübt, in dieser Sprache zu lesen, hier hatte ich aber viel mit dem Slang und dem flotten Sprachstil zu kämpfen. Aber da kann der Autor ja nix für.
Also fünf Sterne - bin gespannt, wie es visuell umgesetzt wird.

I see why it made time magazine’s top 100 list, An absolutely great read. The author had a knack for predicting the future and it is now.

Bought this for one of my brothers as a gift, under request and I can safely say he is VERY pleased with it.

Re read it after about 15 years. Still holds up well. Overall a fun read. Kind of weaps up quickly in the end. Reminds me of a Michael Crition book. Clearly one of Mr Stephenson's early books

Five stars. A great read and a very interesting premise. It is a pleasure to read a well written deco-if cyberpunk novel. It ha really held up well over time!
