| Read this book about a year ago and thought it was great. A convincing story set in the near future where the Cold War moves into outer space. The plot is quite convincing with developed characters and an atmosphere which captures all of the 1980s US paranoia about Soviet imperialism. As someone with an interest in Iran, the Soviet invasion of the country represents a very interesting part of the story. It explores the possible course the world would have taken should such an invasion have occurred. Sounds a bit odd, but I especially liked the believable space station created by Brown. Set in the near future, he bases the design on present day technology, not creating the usual "Star Trek" era style base you do get in similar novels. I even appreciated the Soviet fighter-shuttle, a convincing creation even though it sounds a tad ludicrous. However, I especially liked the fact that Brown portrays the US military as a service on the edge, unconvinced of its own abilities. It adds a suitable edge to the story. A must purchase for any military tech lover. | ||||

| Dale Brown never fails to give the reader his investment back in hard hitting adventure. He is driven to be precise and detail orientated in his description of every detail and the sci-fi enthusiast in all of us has his bell rung every time. | ||||
