| There are too many ways to spoil the read so I'm just going to say it is the best book I've read in the mystery category in a long time. I have already purchased 2 copies to send as gifts to friends and got the audible version so I can listen in the car on my commute to work. Just a very good read. My husband cant stop talking about this book. My turn to read it. OK, so I read before I go to bed. I found myself saying "I'm going to bed" earlier and earlier every night knowing I had this book to read. | ||||

| What I do know is that you will not be able to put this book down. I read this book in two nights, although it too until 4 a.m one night (couldn’t stop). I wouldn’t mind reading about these people again. There was a lot left open for further development. I will go back and write a more exhaustive review in a better format. | ||||

| I think lots of people romanticize operating a bed and breakfast and this book lets the reader feel like you are right there. The storyline might br a bit predictable but sometimes that is okay too. Though I am an avid reader, I have difficulties lately in falling into a book. Within a couple of pages or a chapter, I lose focus or interest and put down whatever I’m reading. | ||||

| この小説は昭和１３年から少年俱楽部に連載されたものでした。世の中が、絶対強い日本を信じていた時代とも言える時に発表されたものです。読み物としては痛快でたった一人の日本兵が、バッタバッタと敵をやっつけてしまうのです。ただ、これを読んだ子供は自分の未来にどんな夢をもち、どんな日本にあこがれたのかと考えさせられました。 | ||||

| ラピュタみたいな話かと思ったら、海上に浮かぶ飛行場の話でした。 時は日中戦争のさなか。南シナ海に英国が建設中の、平和目的の海上飛行場。 しかし、その恐るべき正体は・・・。日本帝国海軍の勇者達が大活躍！ と言う内容の、少年向ＳＦ小説です。ただし、１９４０年頃の作品なので、評価は各自さまざまでしょうね。 ＳＦ系作品の少ないKindle無料本では、貴重な存在かも。 雰囲気は１９５０年代の東宝特撮映画の様な感じです。 個人的には気に入りました。著者の他作品も、読んでみたいと思います。 ですが、息子（小４）には進めません。 | ||||

| この作者の名前にちなんで付けられたそうです。 戦前は大変な人気作家だったようですが、戦後の知名度がいまひとつなのは、戦争協力者であったことが災いしているのかもしれません。 この作品も戦意高揚小説と言っていい内容で、現代の感覚で読むと違和感を感じる箇所がいくつかあります。人によっては、表現に不快感を覚えるかもしれません。 とはいっても、ストーリーは一気に読ませる面白さで、当時の少年たちの熱狂振りが分かる気がします。ある意味、時代が生んだ小説と言えるかもしれません。 また、今でいう「メガフロート空母」の構想を、７０年前に先取りした先見性は、やはり大したものと言うべきでしょう。 当時としては、ＳＦ小説とスパイ小説のハイブリットとして受け止められたのでしょうが、リアリティのある冒険小説がお好きの方にお勧めしたいです。 | ||||
