| Loved Montalbano books usual mix of intriguing detective story plot, bright description of the main character's psychology and soul , reference to literature and philosophy, fun and food. Montalbano is a character like no other and his adventures are so addictive. Just a little note for the reader about Camilleri's lexical choices. What someone calls camillerese is a mix of Italian and Sicilian language the way it is spoken in the area where the author is from: the province of Agrigento. Sicilian is not a dialect but a proper language in its own right. UNESCO recognised it as such. It is a Romance language like Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French. It has been influenced by Italian, Greek, Spanish, French, Catalán, Provençal, Latín, Lombard. Camilleri basically switches between two languages. | ||||
