While a bit confusing at first, it takes time to figure out "who's who" and which ones are the good guys, this unusual story kept me reading page after page. I really like to read David Morrell's books. My favorites so fare, "The Brotherhood of the Rose" and "The Fraternity of the Stone". I am looking forward to reading more of David Morrell's books.

Great read! David is always delivering and if you are fan this book will not disappoint you. I highly recommend it.

I enjoyed this book a lot. It is a companion book to The Brotherhood of the Rose and the Fraternity of the stone and contains the main characters from the other two books. It will hold your attention and is a good read for those who like action and adventure tales.

Enjoyable book as one of a trilogy. Arrived quickly. Had been looking for this one for a while so was pleased to find it.

This was a great culmination to David Morrell's spy trilogy that wound the two different back stories of the main characters from The Brotherhood of the Rose and The Fraternity of the Stone perfectly.

I read the paperback many years ago and got this for the Kindle Fire, mainly because I wanted to re-read it and also because I wanted an in-depth book experience for the Kindle to see if I would really like it. Long story short, this is the one that made me see that I can spend hours on a Kindle and do just fine (not to mention that I'm a David Morrell fan, anyway).

I read this series when they first came out. Reading them now with the lack of technology is kind of fun.

This book was not an easy read, but it was enjoyable. It is easy to fall in love with these characters, and it is easy to want them to succeed. It is also very interesting how this book blends religious and cultural differences. I think it is the best of the Mortalis series, and I would recommend it to most people.

As with many of David Morrlell's works, this book was detailed, technical and kept the interest from beginning to end. Especially like the added end piece. Looking forward to the next one..

Wall to wall excitement and interesting interweaving of plots.
Also, nice love interest there, too, with 2 women who stand behind their men.

Having discovered David Morrell only recently, I started out with the Brotherhood trilogy, finishing with this. Happy to conclude "the Rose" and "the Stone", although I liked those two a bit more I think.

I'm now carefully trying to select further reading from Mr. Morrell. I am a bit reluctant towards buying his other novels labelled as crime fiction, not really my primary interest. I want more of the spy fiction... comments and recommendations are welcome!

Third in a series by David Morrell. Recommended these to a friend, then had to SEARCH to find them. Of course I read them all before sharing!

Bought the book as a gift so I can't say how good it is, but I received the book in a very timely manner.

This is the third and last book of trilogy. This book consist Saul Grisman and Drew Maclane characters together where they meet each other in the story for the first time. Be sure to read The Brotherhood of the Rose book first (Saul Grisman novel) and The Fraternity of the Stone book second (Drew MacLane novel).
