I didn't look at the publication date before I bought this so it was a little disconcerting to read a n "older" story a la early Jack Reacher. The story was interesting if pretty unbelievable. Not enough to make me continue reading the series but not a waste of time either.

Loved the convoluted story and character development. Good action that was worked into the plot line was delightful. As usual, some of the twists and turns were a bit contrived, but enjoyable. I can recommend this to those of us readers who addicted to espionage thrillers.

I am a huge fan of the series this was the last one of the series that I've read and it did not disappoint. there was a nice level of complexity, there were different layers to the book, and as a reader who likes to figure out the finish before the end I was unable to and that is always a pleasant surprise for me.

Great book! Part of a great series: Brotherhood of the Rose, Fraternity of the Stone, and TLNF. Morrell at his very best. You cannot put it down. Reads a bit like Baldacci.

This is one of my favorite novels... To fully appreciate it though, first read the two stories that precede it- The Brotherhood of the Rose and The Fraternity of the Stone....Morrell is a first class storyteller and these are his masterpieces

So glad David combined characters from 2 previous books. That made the book even more enjoyable. The descriptions make the story come to life. The detail is amazing.Thanks David.

A good story predictable with everything ending well for the stars

David Morrell is a great story teller and this is just one of his wonderful stories that will keep you reading to find out what happens next. It is a good read that you will not be disappointed in.

Loved it!

Hard to keep track of good guys vs bad guys until near the end. The heroes made tòo many miraculous escapes to be credible. But entertaining,

little slow at times--somewhat confusing but predictable ending--later works much better

Was shocked to see old characters. I suggest reading "Fraternity of the Stone" and "Brotherhood of the Rose" first.

A good sequel to both of the previous books.

I read this in 2016 and the book was probably written in the 1980's. No cellphones to get people out of trouble, and when a terrorist was described as having a mouth full of $300 crowns, I knew the book was likely 30 years old or so.
But still an enjoyable read featuring former German SS officers disappearing, a sinister plot involving the Vatican and a secret order of priests who assasinate.
Far-fetched but fun and with a good deal of twists along the way.
Highly recomended for thriller lovers - written by the creator of Rambo.

This is a complex plot, very well written by David Morrell. I first read this many years ago and still remember how compelling the story was. It is written after Mr Morrell had matured as a writer, and reflects his far more complex writing style of that time.
