| A northern California investigator follows thin threads of evidence and eventually starts to unravel and disprove the murder confession of a death row inmate. I like mysteries and I tried hard to like this book, but the further I got into it, the less I liked it. There’s a fairly decent detective story here, but it just couldn’t hold my interest. Way too wordy and politically correct for me. I read about 75% before deciding that I wasn’t enjoying the story at all and gave it up. | ||||

| Poor proof reading in all of her works. Grammatical and spelling errors. I in place of his, the in place of they....Etc. Looks like spell check was used instead of actual checking - sloppy carless proofing! | ||||

| I've been rereading the Mccone series from the beginning. I love to watch the development of the characters, and their histories. | ||||

| This was book nine in the McCone mystery series and the best yet. Muller laid out bread crumbs leading to the murderer, only to snatch away the prize at the last moment. She did this numerous times. When she finally did reveal the murderer it was a total surprise (at least to me). I thought he was way too stupid to have done the deed. The reasoning behind it made sense though. Muller also spent time in the book delving into the personal dramas of the All Souls employees. It was interesting getting a fuller view of the characters. | ||||
