| I have to admit that this is a complicated story, though gorgeously so. It goes to confirm that real life stories are a product of many interwoven strands, and that today’s dramas are influenced by the events of yesterday. That is why I found the twists and turns of the plot exciting. Equally, entertaining historical fictions are Disciples of Fortune, Triumph of the Sun. Since my favorite genre is historical fiction, I was amused by the obscure persons and ideas that turn up in the story. In fact, I was not happy to see this book end. | ||||

| 変死した従兄から送られた謎の文書をめぐって、ユタ、パリ、ウイ‐ン、南アフリカ、レニングラード、キリスト教創設の頃とそして現代と、時間と空間を大きくとんであるく。なぞの文書をめぐって、次々と謎が出現し、前半は結構わくわくしながら読みこんでいける。 でも、主人公の家系図の入り組んでいること、いること、、、。これも作者の意図した一つの趣向だろうけど、あんまりごちゃごちゃで、小説の面白さを損なっている。 | ||||
