Under The Knife

This is so far as I can establish is Tess Gerritsen’s second book. Compared to the first it has different characters, different location and the same plot. Girl’s life implodes, man who was her adversary becomes her ally, couple go on the run together, baddie turns out to be someone known to them, couple go into the sunset together. The end.

Doctor Kate Chesne is blamed for patient dying in the operating theatre. Family sue and top lawyer gets involved. Hospital administrators distance themselves from the unfortunate doctor. Kate is horrified by the happening and cannot work out what went wrong. She knows she did everything she should have but the medical charts appear to show the opposite.

Further enquiries appear to show a pattern with three medical practitioners including the patient in the operating theatre all having recently died. All three had worked together in recent years and more in-depth investigation shows that there is a gap in their patients records. Is there a serial killer?

Chesne now being assisted by the lawyer hired to sue her soon discovers she is now in the sights of the killer. Several attempts are made on her life and the police seem reluctant to take the attempts seriously. Can she identify the source of these threats before she becomes the latest victim.

It hurts to say this but I found this book to be drivel. It tried to be both a thriller and a romance and failed in both regards. I have always enjoyed Gerritsen’s Rizzoli and Isles series of books but I have to say reading across her book range has been extremely disappointing. I think I will take a brief rest from her books for the foreseeable future.

Reads like a Harlequin romance which I guess it was.

As usually Tess Gerritsen pulls you right into her story. A definite page Turner, never wanted to stop reading. The suspense, fear and love made up an excellent action packed story. A must read for any Gerritsen fan.

I enjoyed reading this book very much. I like the characters and the plot is very interesting. I recommend reading this book.

As always Tess Gerritsen writes and excellent mystery and love story. Easy and fast to read. Highly recommend the book

Bought this book after reading one other Tess Gerritsen , enjoyable read.

A great story filled with excitement and intrigue. Tess once again kept me glued to the story with an very emotional ending.

This was a real let down .Have always enjoyed this author but so corny Mills and Booms stuff....poorly written..huge disappointment

Kudos to Tess Gerritson, she has done it again. Under the Knife keeps you captivated in this read. Flows well as all her books will.

This book was so good if you are a fan of hers you must read this one , I finished this book in two days flat !!!! I literally could not put it down once I started reading it !

Good read

I bought because of the Rizzoli and isles series and was disappointed. I have been terrified and I never had sexual desire overcome my fear. I found myself skipping chunks just to end it. The story was good and we'll written once you got past the unbelievable sex parts. At the end would have been fine but it is obvious unrealistic
